Born on July 18, 1945 (Judenburg, Austria). Parents: late Sándor Szabó, priest of the Reformed Church, late Rozália Fésüs, teacher.

Married, wife is Éva Mramuracz, MD, pediatrician. Four children: Levente Szabó (1975), Gyöngyvér Szabó (1980), Orsolya Mihály (1979), Zsigmond Mihály (1988).

Hobbies: mountaneering, skiing, nordic walking, bicycling, photography.
